FIXATION Story Inspiration

FIXATION’s Roblox description is not a random lyric. It is a line from Curry Barker’s film Obsession (Focus Features / Blumhouse): “A love only the branch of a willow tree could conjure.” The experience even credits that film in the description. This page is the story bridge so you understand why the hunter looks like a wish that went too far. It is not a shot-for-shot movie recap, and it is not a claim that Sushi Deluxe is an official tie-in.

The wish, shortened

In Obsession, a man named Bear breaks a novelty called the One Wish Willow and asks that Nikki love him more than anyone in the world. He gets exactly that. The love is total, violent, and not the same person he wanted. The movie is about consent and obsession, not about a cute romance with extra blood.

FIXATION takes the image and turns it into a Roblox round: someone in the house loves you far too much, and the rest of you are trying not to be the object of that love. You can see it in the key art — the wrapped, grinning figure — and in the chase still with the knife and the hearts. The game is Survival / 1 vs All, not a dating sim.

What carries over into gameplay

• One power figure. The Fixation is the wish walking. Survivors are everyone who did not ask for this.
• A house, not a battlefield. Lamps, wood, doorways. Domestic space made unsafe. The walkthrough is the map version of that idea.
• Closeness as a threat. The knife is not a sniper rifle. The horror is in the threshold. How to survive is about leaving that threshold.
• Co-op as the antidote. The film isolates people. The Roblox loop asks survivors to stay in contact. That is why the co-op guide exists.

What does not carry over: you should not expect a full retelling of Bear, Nikki, Ian, and Sarah as named Roblox NPCs. If Sushi Deluxe adds story characters later, they will land on the players hub with evidence. Until then, play the roles you spawn as.

How to use the trailer as a player

Watch for the smile that does not match the eyes. That is the hunter’s job in FIXATION. Watch for friends realizing the relationship is wrong. That is the survivor’s job: believe the danger early, not after the second down. Then close the trailer and queue. A film breakdown will not check a closet for you.

If the movie is too much, skip the embed and stay on mechanical pages: getting started, controls, tier list. The Roblox experience is rated moderate maturity with a horror loop. You do not need the film to play. You only need it if you want to know why the description sounds like a poem.
